Starlings in wheat

Have grower ever had problems with starlings on wheat fields. It just emerging and it looks like they are trying to pull the seed out. Never had it before!

Must of put 10000 off a 50 ha emerging wheat field here this morning, can’t even see they are there until they take flight. Not sure they were doing much damage though.

Always a big issue here on land drilled after 10th October pulling shoots to get at the seed, have had large areas badly thinned in the past.

Massive flock of starlings here about three weeks ago feeding on wheat stubble

Starlings always spend time on late sown wheat especially if it's a bit shallow.

Doing no damage here as no wheat sown.
