Or a tenner a month hire. Which I went for as might see FTTP next year....
The T&C’s of Starlink are unusually sensible,
(1) in that there isn’t a fixed term contract to bind either party, and
(2) as long as the first owner has paid the bills then they are free to sell their dish and the new owner can easily open their own account, so it should be easy to sell on to recoup some of its value.

Not convinced the average delivery drive will cope with a set of coordinates. What3Words can work well, but again the same problem!!
IMO you are simply adding yet another layer of complications to someone whose first language is often not UK based.

Most of the time the packages are being delivered to rural locations where the postcode works well.

I needed a wall bracket so went on the Starlink website, paid and duly received the DHL notification that they had my package and were going to deliver on Monday.
Needless to say the fkup repeated itself with me trying to explain that yet another random address four miles away meant that, yes, no one was in to accept said parcel😡😡😡
FFS
More tapping and eventually it got to the correct address.

It was plugged in today and we went from black and white to full ‘Merchant-Ivory’ technicolour❤️

And I finally parted company with BT👍

We went with Starlink last month, no complaint at all about the service - but the price should be around £50pcm for domestic use, not the £75 they charge...

But we are where we are, and I f**king hate dishonest, misleading, hope-dashing Openreach. Gits.

I live in excess of half a mile in off the road, and I'm the only dwelling situated in the full length of the lane.

I have fibre right in to to the kitchen/living room, so miracles can happen!
Mile off the road here. No one else down here.
Phone line comes across the field in the opposite direction🤦‍♂️. Across a few ditches etc (gets disconnected everytime neighbours do ditching). Cabinet must be 3 miles away? Maybe more.

Fibre, very very unlikely.

County broadband have been very active in this area digging up verges and putting in fibre. Very enthusiastic at first.....we made contact and even they backed away. Once they stared looking into where we were then you could see the interest drain rapidly. As long as they were hitting targets for connections, we weren't going to get an connection.

We've got our GPS in the delivery instructions for all sites. Been a game changer. Even the well coloured uPs manage to find us now.
W3w, GPS, dropped pins. Nothing works. None of them can find us 🤦‍♂️
It's only when they bother to ring the number put on the delivery details that it works. Invariably with "Oh didn't think anyone lived up here. You can't see a house or anything"

I suppose it has other benefits 😄

That is what we always said.... Even the JW door knockers gave us a miss. Until, they sent down two young, "good looking and personable guys and my 15yo daughter opened the door to them and chatted to them for 10-15mins!

Sex always sells the product, whatever it might be!! ;)

My starlink will be for sale soon, expecting to get fibre trenched along side farm lane any day now.

Starlink has been great, but wasnt going to tell the fibre people thanks but no thanks, and miss out on chance to get connected.
Fibre said connection by late April, so I'm working on June

From my experience, that may be optimistic. Hold on to the Starlink until it’s actually up and working.;)

Had a very heavy hailstorm here today and it put out my Starlink. The "dish" sits pretty much flat so the hail must have settled on it and wasn't melting.
Went on the app on my phone and from there you can turn the heating on to warm the dish and turn it so it is more vertical for the slush to slide off. Pretty clever stuff.
Wife was impressed when I got Netflix going again for her.

Proves your're a REAL man @Kidds.

The needs and requirements of the "fair sex" has sure changed over the generations, from Hunter/Gather, to Wage slave, to IT tech guru. ;)

Saw a video on installation and the recommendation was to leave the heater Off, as although it is only comes on when needed, the option used juice on standby. 🤷‍♂️

I think our tempate climate will be OK 360 days of the year?
