Going on with fert today and it's pretty clear this will be a poor year. The rain on flat clay has just battered the hell out of the soil. Deep racks have not helped. Plants are there but quite poor.

Don't be too despondent, my farm has come throught winter well, as you'd expect from lightland and all my crops look good and full of potential but come a dry spell my will be suffering and your poor looking plants now, will be growing quite happily
