About 10 acres of spring barley left , not fit.
46 acres winter wheat to harvest just about but not quite ready. 17 acres spring wheat not fit. A fortnight away.
Hoping the rain doesn’t do too much damage then clear most of it when the “heatwave” arrives. 25 acres spring beans still green as grass. A month away. Looks a bumper crop but will we get them? 20 acres for autumn looks well.

I know rape sowing is done at a very busy time of the year but it does make you wonder if it's a case of "if your going to do a job do it properly".

What other crop that had a potential GM of £1500 plus a ha would you bugger in behind a subsoiler leg 🤷
I've split some fields. Ploughed and pressed part of field. Min tilled in rest behind simba xpress with st legs.

First time growing osr and was a disagreement on best establishment method so tried a bit of both.

Ideal solution on our light land would be a seeder and harrow on back of packomat. 6f plough and press taking on 3m at a time so doesn't take long to get over it.

My osr is moving but another day promised rain and there was none.

Grass leys have sucked all the moisture out well below a foot. My dreams of crumbly tilth and easy ploughing gone - discs bounce off. Plough just said no way.
