Had a lamb struck last week. They seem to be lazy maggots this time, but there could easily be an outbreak of those horrifyingly voracious greenbottle maggots - at least I think that's what they are.

It's why we shear all keeper ewe lambs and most long-keep sellers.

Been chasing late fly all month in store lambs still holding with pour on though as I don't see the cost justification just yet. First ever year I've had fly problems in October, considering I had very little early fly issues.

Had a dozen lambs struck bad a week ago today, real tight coated Suffolk half bred things. Didn't see them the day before due to fetching my daughter out of hospital,they were all over their backs and down the sides, jeez what a mess of the first five I made trimming them out. Anyway the battery died in the clippers so I called the jetter and he came within two hours and they are fine now.
As a side note the lambs were and still are spotlessly clean.

Had a ram with a harness on go down with strike this week from his armpit all over one side- least likely sheep to have it as he peels all his wool off but harness must of made him sweat

Roughly 35/350 mules have been shorn in the last 10 days here, 2 texX and 1 exlanaX. Not one was dirty and all were absolutely perfect the day before, all starting on the shoulders. Rain/sun/rain is the cause as their sweating on the shoulders
