Hi all,

We have just bought some.land and looking to get it enclosed with stock fencing. 400 to 600 metres depending in what state some of the existing is.

The first contractor I got in gave a price of 14 quid a meter plus vat which is more than I was expecting. Can anyone recommend someone in north wales?

Thanks

Hi all..it was Stock Fencing. 2100x128mm strainers and 1800x75mm intermediate strainers at 3m intervals. C8/80/15 netting and two rows of top wire.

Its not a super flat field and there are some corners but its ok.

Jeez £14 per m is expensive for that. You would easily get that spec for half that money here. As said earlier £14 is more deer fencing rates and a good rate at that. Good luck but don’t be paying that money. Seems a ridiculous price

All depends on conditions and field shape. Might be creosoted materials. Seems odd a professional using C wire. Most would use HT. Probably including vat.
He already says it’s plus vat and there’s no way creosote doubles price. Only excuse for that rate would be if every post is on rock and has to be dug and concreted in. But he has described conditions as ok

I'd like to say, well done to the original poster for getting his field fenced. So many non farmers these days buy some land and do nothing with their boundary.
Old saying in the country - Good fences make for good neighbours. Good luck with your land and enjoy it.
