We have 5 acres of stubble turnips left with our remaining hoggets Grazing but that warm spell last week has set the tops off growing again, which makes the bulb rubbery, reckon that will hit DLWG!
Note to self get them gone sooner!

Got 500 left here, starting to scratch head a little as price doesn't look to be moving anytime soon. Only grazing fodder beet tops at moment so not costing a lot to keep but starting to wonder if they will ever be worth the £2/kg like normal that we predicted.

Wonder is there any way to export lambs to oz , I see on agriland there making $200 due to a scarcity due to building up numbers after previous droughts

Sorry to go way off topic again, but @Kiwi Pete what does a good finished bull/bullock come to over there $/kg and what proportion of your killed beef would be dairy compared to suckler bred
Beef schedule fluctuates of course, my fri. bulls are headed to the winterless north for finishing. The figure on contract is $2.60 kg LWT end of April delivery.
I wouldn't be surprised if we will soon see a record dairy bull/beef bull ratio as even the sheep farmers are buying dairy bulls instead of store lambs this year, but I wouldn't know the actual ratio well enough to say it in public. Imagine it could be close to a third?
Current bull schedule is around $4.40 cartage paid in the South island, usually 20-25c higher in the North. Think your pound would still buy $1.70 or so so £2.70?
Never enough when you're selling. :banghead:
