Planning on getting some store lambs in August and fatten them till October ish, I’m only 17 and only have 2 fields at about an acre each, i know most people will think it’s a waste of time but I want to get my foot in the door, what breed would you recommend and what is the most profitable way of selling them ? Any help would be appreciated.

Any easy fleshing continental breed, so Charollais x (or Texels). To make anything at all from them you will need them to grow and finish off no/few bought in inputs, just the green stuff they can graze.

Most profitable way to sell them will be cut up and put in boxes for people’s freezers, especially as it will only be a handful if you’ve only 2ac to use. Failing that, the live market for small batches.
