I am looking at the idea of growing some peas next year and was wondering if anyone has experience of strip tilling them with a mzuri or a claydon?

Did some this year, first time for me both growing peas and strip-tilling them, drilled into overwintered cover crops with our Sumo DTS. Dry weather hampered yield but reasonably happy overall. Will be doing it again this coming spring.

Stones have stopped me getting ideas of growing them. My Claydon pulls up stones but there isn't enough loose soil for the rolls to push them back down again. As many peas are cut flat as a witch's tit around here as are cut still standing.

What sort of land are you on ? Peas are considered a light land crop, but I find crops behave differently when DD.

Got a bit of everything here, one 40 acre field goes from sand to heavy clay with a gravelly bit inbetween, the heavy land did the best, the other 30 acres was split over 4 fields, all medium to heavy, it was so fudging dry for so long it was all pretty rubbish tbh.

Neighbour did his with his new to him DTS this season, not seen him to ask how they did yet but they did look well, even with the lack of rainfall.
