Stripy Field Syndrome

There's a certain satisfaction in a nicely rolled field and it does do good, closes up the top to reduce evaporation, encourages the grass to tiller and most important of all knocks in the stones so the contractor doesn't blow up his mower or chopper.

I would happily volunteer to do some rolling at the moment, not worried about width and acreage, just one condition, the tractor must be open topped :):):)

Land's still a bit wet to start rolling here but I used to love it when I was young. Now of course the novelty wears off after the first 10 acres or so, but these days I take the DVD player I have for umbilicalling with me, makes the job a lot more bearable :whistle:
 
I harrow and roll..helps remove thatch and drag the molehills out..Now I don't mind a few molehills as they top dress the surface, but come the middle of May I start putting the traps in.
