Stuggling with popping/exploding AI straws...

Seems like a bad batch... when i take out of the AI flask and place in the thawer... every one out of five just seems to shatter/explode or the stopper pops out of the bottom of the straw...

Does anyone know why this happens? Always had the odd one but this current batch seems to be doing it abit too frequently, will have to have a word with the salesman.

Straws not filled properly, air trying to expand causing the popping, watch yours eyes!! Was told someone lost their eye from being ‘harpooned’ by a popping straw. Say you want the whole batch replaced and extra straws for your hassle.

The man that trained me damaged an eye when a straw shot the plug out.
Glasses are supplied with AI sets I believe.
Was only telling someone about the danger this morning. AI company should replace all.

Iv had a few batch’s,had 50 pop out of about 300, the blokes swapping them

Don't bother thawing them,
Just put them in the gun frozen and serve the cow

Either do as @YELROM says or gently tap them before you put them into water normally works for us.
