Subsoiler: Trailed or Mounted?

I have a 9 leg trailed subsoiler with Tillso ultra lite tines used at not much more than 8". It was trailed as it was used with a crawler and is a twb v form with a "bolt on" trailing kit.

I have now moved to a wheeled JD 8430 and was wondering if the weight transfer would be better to be on the 3 point linkage now?

The trailing kit does add a fair bit of weight to it and can make the razor packer cut in too much, taking more pulling.

Thanks

how do you find the performance of the ultra lite tine? In my experience, I would have thought the big advantage is that subsoiler and tractor will turn quicker at the headland if it's mounted and surely weight transfer will be improved

Very good. I am trying to do no surface disturbance whilst gently loosening at 8" whilst tentatively trailing dd. Make sure the leg has some tungsten on the back edge as they are prone to wearing. I weld on used combine chopper knives which extends the life of the leg.

I have relatively big fields which are mainly rectangular in shapeso headland turning is not much of an issue. It just how to pull it best.

Thanks
