Substation siting price.

UK Power networks are talking of giving £5000 for the usual 4mx4m type of substation.

They say they can't give me 'anything that I would otherwise have to pay for' (ie a new connection off the new substation) to sweeten the deal.

has anyone else lately got more out of them?

About 15 years ago we got about 60 metres of 11kV line through our yards put underground if I waived the fee (from memory rather less than £5000). When it was EDF about 8 years previous to that they wanted £8000 to move a pole mount transformer by 2 metres if we dug the trench. We declined that offer.
