What are they crossed with? Bought in or homebred?Currently have HE x cows but not impressed with there Mothering in the first 24hrs and quite a bit of bag trouble. What replacements should I look at. Must be easy calving and fleshing.
Luing for the upland, SimLuing for the lowland
I like the quiet temperMeant I was thinking along south devon lines I have a saler heifer coming through this year. Any thoughts on south devon.
What would Sim luings be like with a limmy bull on them?
Any sim luings for sale with known health status and tb4 ideally?
SDs are outstanding....unsung top trump suckler.
Yes, they're about the quietest thing going.
Don't go too big (they are some huge lines in there) unless you really have the ground to carry it, don't overfeed em, and just let them do the work for you.
very good crossing element if thats where you're headed.
(a SD x Galloway is a hardworking upland cow)
Hfd x's are renowned for there mothering traits. Is the udder trouble due to having to much milk at calving due to spring grass or is your weaning process causing it.Currently have HE x cows but not impressed with there Mothering in the first 24hrs and quite a bit of bag trouble. I would hazard a guess it's caused by extreme Holstein in its motherHfd x's are renowned for there mothering traits. Is the udder trouble due to having to much milk at calving due to spring grass or is your weaning process causing it.
Yes Hereford freisans were great until the Holstein came inI would hazard a guess it's caused by extreme Holstein in its mother
