You need some on soon so there is plenty there for the start of flowering. It doesn't need it all yet & it can leach as badly as N but you have to fit around your own logistics.

It has to be in the plant by the time flower buds form, so second split likely to be too late. Your dose is about right.

Does the crop need all of its S now?

Personally I like to split the sulphur application so there is some sulphur with the two main N top dressings. I'm I no particular hurry our rape looks very green ATM. Further rain would see leach of SO3 which is more mobile than urea I believe.
