This is the best I have of the drilling when the weather was on the turn. Went well into unmoved stubble but have now been parked up for three weeks. Just like the claydon video I'm sure we could go again on the frost.

Looks quite impressive!

How do you find it copes with trash?
Had a demo of one and found trash (bindweed) caused problems. A couple of days later our claydon sr drilled through the piles dropped at the ends without blocking. In many other respects I thought it was a better drill.

Here are some pictures of our first crops with our DTS.
1. Is Cordiale direct into OSR stubble that was straked - drilled 2/10/13
2. Is KWS Croft direct into spring oat stubble, this was drilled the day after we had just had 60mm of rain over the a weekend-drilled 14/10/13
3. Is Viscount again into spring oat stubble, by this time we had over 90mm of rain in a week - drilled 18/10/13
Both 2&3 we would never have established using our min-till system we previously used.
4. Is PR46W21 this had sewage cake applied prior to drilling on 27/08/13.

Great looking crops!
Good advert!

Think your land might be slightly different to mine tho - after that amount of rain I wouldn't be walking on my fields, never mind trying to drill them!

All those crops are established on heavy weald clay, as I mentioned in the photo captions we used to established our crops via min-till (probably better described as non inversion tillage - Sumo, Press, Drill (Horsch Sprinter), we would not have established a thing with this method after it started raining.

We are using a 4.8m, established about 1,000 acres this autumn. Still have about 250 acres of beans to put in - will be springs now, unless a miracle happens. You will need at least 50hp a metre if you are on anything resembling heavy land, ideally you want to pull the drill between 10-12km for the best finish.

I am definitely on the heavy stuff!
I'm considering the 3m mounted - on around 175hp.

No, but have seen some of the results, leaves the field far too ridged for my liking - the explanation was it helped protect the emerging crop.....not convinced at all.
Ridges are optional, there is a batterboard or green harrow available as well as levellers on the coulters.
