If you have any amount of swathed straw missed by a baler or flat corn missed by the combine I would say you need a set of discs or you need to get busy with a flail topper, discs probably the better option. The rakes aren't all that different in the job they do. Any rake will block or drag if you chuck enough of a heap of unchopped straw into it and probably wont achieve much in flat corn other than to block if it pulls enough up. As I am still finding out, stubble management is key to strip-till, get the combine driver to try and pick the flat bits up if possible and make sure the baler driver gets all the swathed straw!

I have one I use along with a DTS had the drill for 4 seasons and the rake for 2. It's a big lump and takes a bit of lifting fendt 820 ok with weight on, not without! Spreads any straw or flat barley around really well. Very versatile on how you can set it up, takes a while to work out the best way to run it and it varies from crop to crop. I have just fitted a seeder on for forage rape and mustard etc. Never used another brand but like this one.

15m Claydon rake here. Does a great job of spreading lumps of unbaled straw but as above, it must be dry or they do not fall out & just bung up in the machine. Not combining weather? Not raking weather either!
