which one of these events do you think was attended mainly by environmentalists, eco warriors and save the planet campaigners

Doubt the bikers made the same numbers. With workers there is about upto 175,000 people over the space of a week.

There is also an army that clean up afterwards but the press never show that

It's definitely not all Eco warrior types these days though.

I'm afraid I think it is horrible! It is an 'attitude' that has become accepted which is just wrong in so many ways. Ok there's professional cleaner-uppers who perhaps make money for 'charity' but the ethos is still wrong!
Good on the bikers. As a biker I'm pleased to see they keep their game in the real world.(y)
I held some 'bushcraft events' a while back and the 'bushcrafters' were not so tidy either. Took me some time to clear their mess up but not on the scale of Glastonphant:mad:

They bought it with them, they can take it home. I get walkers here going past with bottles in hand, they never seem to have them on the way back the dirty pansies.

Hmmmm. Couple of random pictures photoshopped together. Does anyone really believe the bikers didn't leave a single piece of litter?

Not condoning littering obviously. But I can see straight through the creator of that picture!

Maybe the bikers where in a rush to get back on the road and cut up car drivers whilst doing double the speed limit and didn't have any time to drop any litter?

Unfortunately today many people have a complete disregard for the countryside....but still demand they have a right to access it. Perhaps the two are linked? There is no perceived value....and yet they probably have the RSPCA/RSPB on direct debit each month.

Dog poo bags hanging up on branches is a perfect example of this...that is of course if they actually bother to pick the mess up!

Not to mention those who wander round anywhere regardless of footpath, but walking over margins because the farmer "doesn't farm this land" or "it isn't used" or a fallow/or just drilled field is "empty". Some horse owners are just as bad...the day tramlines disappear from fields and all spray/fert is done by drone could be a blessing in itself. Some here love using tramlines to walk their horses side by side and have a chat.

Oh, and then the Chris Packhams of this world who do as above whilst slagging off the farmer for shooting skylarks or the damage they do to the environment! Have their cake and eat it springs to mind.

THAT SAID....we have numerous caravanners here each year who love walking the footpaths, are respectful and are a pleasure to have about the place.

On a similar note....you wouldn't walk through someone else's business premises e.g. HSBC bank branch, Costa cafe, Tesco supermarket and be allowed inside with your dog, let alone let it relieve itself on the floor and pick it up in a bag and hang it on a peg next to the Haribo sweets!

Or walk through Eddie Stobart's yard, the John Lewis Distribution Centre, Certas Energy's depot, let alone when asked to stick to the path following the correct route away insist you were in the right place.

Oh, and how about the 15,000 sheep a year killed by dogs?! Imagine how that would play out if you took your dog to the zoo or safari park and it went for one of the monkeys? or even a horse at the local riding stable?

Just my thoughts for the day....!

I dont quite see how road discipline comes into this, but, living by a garage frequented by the festival attendees, I would prefer to be overtaken by a biker doing well over the speed limit than to have to overtake some of the "vehicles" used by them. Its obvious that many are uninsured, and downright dangerous, having been dragged out of a hedge somewhere, and used for a few days then scrapped, with no comebacks!
Bikes cutting up cars? Really? Not really a good idea, the Biker is on the outside of hie machine, the car driver is well protected on the inside of his. Who is going to come of best if things get a little too close?

It's hard enough for bikers to get venues to let them camp at ,so they have to pickup everything or they get banned and the annual meeting doesn't go ahead, farm yard has been going for years

Glastonbury's full of different people every year who no doubt dont give a toss
