Torremolinos/ benelmadena area near the marina, right on the beach and a lovely walk round the marina and bars in the evening. Plenty of hotels/apartments to choose from. 2 1/2 flight and only 30min transfer. Ideal with little kids, been and done it several times when ours were younger

We stayed in salgados near faro a couple of years ago. Had kids of a similar age. We enjoyed it.

Get yourself into the Canary Isles on an all inclusive resort, kids will love the play areas and pools and the variety of grub on offer, alternatively head into down for lunch and a swim in the sea.

The best spot is the cordial vale apartments in Porto mogan. Ideal for young kids , we went there 4 years ago and it turned out so good we have gone back for the last 4 years. Great facilities , great food and very safe. . Recommended to me by a travell agent friend. She got it right.

Get yourself down the main strip and into that ice cream shop, bloody delicious, I went every day!

You can hire a jeep wrangler and go off roading around the coast (all gravel off road tracks) then hit the quads or dune buggies, all great fun. Whilst you are there you can look at the more fashion orientated shops on the main drag and the significant other up a nice leather handbag for very reasonable money.

There is a very nice fish restaurant right by the quay, their speciality is a fish baked in salt. Absolutely delicious.

Lagos is an hours easy drive from Faro we've had many great family holidays there loads of great places to eat and drink.
