Had to buy some Maris piper spuds from tesco 2£ for 2.5 kg this equates to £800t this annoyed me no end when is this producer exploitation going to stop . The quality of these spuds were quite clearly below par deep bruising upon peeling on 50 % of the sample annoyed me as a potato producer further on investigating the packaging became aware who the packer was , if we sent spuds like that I am sure they would be sent back or. A large deduction of a very poor far gate price . I was so incensed rang tesco customer service and did get refunded plus a voucher but still v annoyed at farm gate price vs supermarket price or rip off

Joe public think they grow in the bag so they wouldn't know what the standard should be.....

No point keeping to a standard when the consumer doesn't know what it is to start with.....
