Never tried it but you can stencil concrete.

Personally I like tarmac. Stone sets around border really finishes it off it you want it. Flags up to door etc

Yes, expensive from the readymix plant. They need lots of notice and can be quite a mess when you are putting it down.

What sort of farmhouse? I’m planning on ripping up 60 year old concrete and putting down Marshalls Tegula block paving, should look nice in front of 300 year old brick farmhouse.

A couple of neighbours have put concrete down, laid a stencil pattern over it then dyed the concrete surface. It looks smart..
