Swedes for fattening lambs

as above really. Are they any good for fattening lambs?

They are an almost perfect ration for fattening lambs imo. Yield is entirely weather dependant though, and varies (widely) accordingly. I woudn't like to rely on just growing swedes to feed sheep, as you might get a massive crop (as pictured above), or you might get a field of cricket balls.

As posted above, they want to be in now, or very soon, to get a half decent crop. I've got 20 or so acres to go in, just been waiting on the rain to make it worth drilling them. Planning on DD'ing them at the weekend, once it's softened things up a bit.:)

Cheers very much for the advice. Was supposed to have drilled them on Saturday but the bloody courier left them at the wrong address.

Just waiting for the weather to dry up so hopefully this weekend.
