Swedes for grazing in February and March after lambing?

Sorry if this has been covered before but does anyone graze swedes after lambing? We have lambed some older ewes in February this year and although the grazing was rested there isn't much grass. Would the ewes udders get dirty and what about joint I'll from dirty navels?

We put our singles on swedes after lambing last year and it was a crap job. Lambs just didn't kick on as I hoped. Probably not enough protein for a milking ewe was my thought.
