I’ve 4 Hereford cross heifers that I’m wanting to synchronise to AI in January. Can anyone tell me what the costs are? For synchronising and for the AI technician please. I’ve been quoted a price for the straws but nothing else so thought you guys might be able to help. I’m based in East Midlands if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance.

Best to ask your vet to be accurate, did have my mate around the other week and he was speaking about a new vet in his practice hitting high rates in synchronising cows, around 80% I think and heifers obviously higher, but wasn't paying a great deal of attention but seem to remember without price of straw it was 45 pounds, he was inseminating cows and heifers but whether that visit was on top?...

The program I use requires a Cidar, 2 x shots of Receptal and 1 x shot of Estrumate per animal.
Total cost of around £15 - then add the cost of your AI. Cidar can be inserted yourself - not hard to do.
