That depends on the products. Add the wrong products at the wrong time and you can end up with thick sludge in the hopper.
Indeed, I had a bad experience when I first started out with an old 800lt Hardi. I put MCPA in at about a quarter full then threw Roundup straight in on top...... It took me a couple of hours to get the tank out, stopping every hundred metres to clean the blue soapy gunk out of the suction filter. When I finally got it empty it took me a further hour to clean the huge glob of stuff off the bottom of the tank. It was quite suprising, the amount of gunk would have been 4 or 5 times the volume of product that actually went in the tank, also, does anyone know what would actually have precipitated out? It was a pale blue color and the spray still killed perfectly well. Regardless, it's the stuff of nightmares!!

Do people let the tank fill to 70% before adding chemicals though? Shoot me down but I don't, if I don't get adding asap I wouldn't get it all in and I like to add it with clean water running through the hopper etc.
I tend to fill to full capacity or whatever I need for the job, mostly because most of the places I spray either don't have water or have a very slow supply and then add the chems at the paddock cause I don't like traveling on the road with chems in the tank. That way if something goes wrong I won't have insecticide ect all over the highway. The biggest thing I've discovered with my Amazone UG 3000 is to limit the about of air I let the hopper draw in. Suck in the chems, rinse, turn off the tap, measure out the next lot, repeat. If I leave it drawing air it bubbles it through the tank and creates a huge amount of bubbles. Figured that one out the hard way.:scratchhead::cry::arghh:

I find that it takes so long to get the chems in and wash the bottles that I need to start as soon as soon as possible when the tank starts to fill. I hate using water from the tank to wash the bottles out always clean water in the hopper and can washing jet. Never would put 2 different chems in on top of each other - I like them to mix in the tank not the induction hopper.(y)

I just run with the hopper tap at the balance point of drawing enough out to keep at the same water level with the rinse running and then open/close as required when bunging the chemical in, usually I just add chemical in the order it is on the spray rec
