Going to teat seal all cows this year and was wondering what difference there was between brands.
I have some orbeseal ordered but found another brand that is cheaper.

Orbeseal £7.50 per cow
U seal is £6.33 per cow

A significant savings over a few cows. I haven’t teat sealed since I was a kid, any tips or things to watch out for?

Local guy swapped for a cheaper brand via his buying group, the saving was quite a bit. The cost was unbelievable in infections, lost quarters, thrown away milk and treatment costs.

Our vets have just stopped stocking Orbeseal for ubroseal. We tried some in the spring when couldn't get orbeseal and it cost us as well!

As @vantage , I use new gloves for each cow, surgical spirit in a small ice cream tub, and drop the makeup pads into the spirit, oh and a head torch too ( I don't know whether my eyesight that is going bad, but it certainly helps) i usually use two pads for each teat, but if there is colour left on the pad after cleaning, the teat is not clean enough, so use another. Cepralock is the sealent I use here.
