Heifer I'd got picked out to go to bull this summer - thought she looked suspect couple months ago. Calved unseen today all fine up and sucked. Heifer calf.
Heifer is Stabiliser x out of a blue born 29th April 15. (Will bcms give me a hard time?). Think she must have gone to her own father though.
Where's Walter to see an animal with blue in her calf unaided at 15 months old[emoji1] Not that I intend to make a habit of it.

We had one (blue x) that needed a caesarean at 13 months. She had been served by her father and the calf was a dwarf. We had to put the calf down at three months as it was no bigger than the day it was born.

Had a 16month heifer calf 6 weeks ago... both doing well now.

BCMS website didn't like registering the calf, so we phoned them... they told us to send evidence of birth in herd books. So we wrote it in, photocopied page and sent it to them. They were happy and registered calf against heifer (y)

We had the same with a Dexter this year who was only 13 months.

As above, we phoned BCMS - they were really helpful and asked us to send in a photocopy of our records. They sent a passport after a couple of weeks. Heifer and calf both fine now.

Reckon I could send them a pic - should be able to catch her sucking and be able to see heifer's tag:)
What a nonsense to have to send them a copy of your records - like that proves anything different to what you've tried to do on cts online.

Bull calf this time - 32 bull calves to 20 heifers so far this year (3 stragglers left to calve) - but would certainly look favourably on any future heifers from her. :)
I had one this year calve at 13 months and three weeks, she has a heifer calf, I am wondering if I want to encourage that kind of teen pregnancy behavior in my lot though
