The view in this pic, Mouswald will be just in from the right side of the picture - I'm looking South East in that view (Carlisle could be just to the right of centre and Lockerbie will be centre)

If you want a view...

Continuing my stalking of Nithy Towers. You won’t be to far away from the Linns. I’m guessing Michael Kyle is still there block milking his jersey cows?

I'm close as in it's just outside Dumfries aye :ROFLMAO:
The Linns is at Torthorwald to the East of Dumfries (other side of the a75 from Mouswald really). I'm up the a76 North of Dumfries...

Still milking Jerseys as far as I'm aware. Not sure if he's still doing the outdoors though. The hill Linns sits on is bloody exposed, not a good site for out wintering cattle. He had outdoor cubicles - basically just a shed with no roof but the running joke the first few years was he had installed a conveyor belt straight to Dundas (fallen stock) for the dead cattle... I'm not really sure how he is getting on now though

They're not looking as well as last year, I have been feeling a bit disappointed with them but this is the first time I've had them in since September and I was actually very pleased with their condition - bugger all grass up at the windfarm with all this frost and bit snow. They've only been getting hard feed once a week.

F**k up fortnight is in full swing, too. I've lost 2 triplet ewes to rotten lambs - both have shown no signs and I've found them flat out very sick and passed away within minutes of me finding them. I've had 2 twins die with prolapses and another twin carrying ewe keeled over beside the burn after feeding  :banghead: bloody scunner of a week so far

I hate the lead up, you know it’s coming but it still p***** you off. Been dagging vac and wormer last couple of days. Been doing them quietly 2 at a time in a small pen. Convinced some of the early problems are to do with handling before and however careful you are they manage to knock themselves killing the odd lamb.

Good luck with lambing, whatever happens it won’t be your fault you seem to cover most bases.

Well just to illustrate why I can lamb earlier than many in most 'normal' years, this is it today at 4pm. Just 9 days later

The fields which had muck in January have really responded and are looking good.

Mother Nature doing her best to turn it around, just in a nick of time.

7 days to go.
