He wouldn’t know his arse from his elbowJeremy Clarkson was buying mule shearlings today....he obviously knows a good sheep when he sees one!
He must know his sheep, saw him buyin a pen on facebook, looked good sheep to me.He wouldn’t know his arse from his elbow
Saw that ,the comments were that trade was good.He must know his sheep, saw him buyin a pen on facebook, looked good sheep to me.
Lets hope their is a bit more optimism around this time....must admit i was a bit despondant a week or 2 back but people do seem to be quute upbeat at the moment....there should be plenty of grass this time anyways.Saw that ,the comments were that trade was good.
did the auctioneer know who he was or did he have to ask ?Thame sheep fair, top quality mules on offer, anyone heard any prices, always a bit of an indicator as to how the autumn breeding sales are going to go. I hear Jeremy Clarkson was buying mule shearlings today....he obviously knows a good sheep when he sees one!
He was just trying to be funny making out he didn't know him,he missed a trick in my book. ..would have been great PR to be seen knocking a pen down to Jeremy Clarkson.did the auctioneer know who he was or did he have to ask ?
They'd be good sheep then
Trade doesnt sound too bad then,a nice sensible trade. The man who had the champion run deserves a lot of credit....to be selling pens of 30 at those prices ,and to have lambed them,he obviously knows his job to a T.all credit to him.I did see a video of them, they did look an outstanding pen.Texel xs fairly fierce trade early yesterday. Big quality run though large framed yet not massively shapely and run dry hit 170 a couple of times then few at hIgh 160s. Trade dipped halfway through the sale but not significantly. Store lambs appeared to be 4 or 5 quid down from Northern sales according to friends from that way. I made 69 from lambs that were fit maybe 39 kilo. 52 for charolais on mule lambs around 31 kilo. Didn't see a Suffolk sold as stood with my mules but an Anglesea buyer said too dear and came looking for mules. Clarkson was after 3 pens for his arable farm to include sheep to highlight the hardship of farming on amazon prime. Potential of boosting farming cause I'd thought depending on how show is actually portrayed. Selected 3 farms to buy off. One my sister. The sheep had to return to vendors farm to be filmed and portray nicely nicely type of thing. Missed most mules as standard by pens but can guarantee former show winner made 162 and strong run sat in mid 140s. Midway through sale champion run made 170 148 152 149 nearly 30 in each pen. Good few runseconds late on. Some to a disappointing trade. Sister has tidy well bred sheep but not absolute top end power but lambed got to 130s but way too many at 120 118 mark for a runique of 300. Few lambed mules as per normal. Champions were lambed I know. Little below 110. Know idea of suffolks but guess mules up a few quid and if not it's because of a higher clearance rate as opposed to last year
No good upsetting regular men to accomodate clarkson, but can just imagine it happening with that firm! Will jeremy be back next year!?Was not so much of a buzz around on the Thursday compared to the Friday, continental ewes back a little, tups a very hard sell I thought!
Dealer was asked to stand aside and move from his usual spot for Clarkson to bid/buy, said dealer wasn't happy in what I heard
He talks with one and pushes others around with the other !He wouldn’t know his arse from his elbow
He's very well thought of and often invited to judge NEMS sales in the DalesTrade doesnt sound too bad then,a nice sensible trade. The man who had the champion run deserves a lot of credit....to be selling pens of 30 at those prices ,and to have lambed them,he obviously knows his job to a T.all credit to him.I did see a video of them, they did look an outstanding pen.
Ah right, thought he must be one of the leading flockmasters. He's very well thought of and often invited to judge NEMS sales in the Dales
I have same opinion as you.....but if he is bringi g farming and north of england mules into the spotlight can only be a good thing...every little helps!....... but I suppose on reflection if he is atanding up for the farming industry then I had better give him the benefit of the doubt !!
