If it's no more than £5 then some of the stores being purchased at the moment aren't going to pay too much?

Hasn't that ever been the way?! I'm guessing a lot have been bought just because they wanted the cattle and that was the trade, rather than actually doing too many sums. Sometimes you just have to go with it and hope for the best otherwise you've got nothing and it's too late. Still a dangerous game to play.
 
The price of barley and other cereals would surely have encouraged people to buy store cattle. I used to hear a few buyers telling me they had heaps of feed value cereals that in a bad trade couldn’t be sold to any real advantage unless put through cattle
