Why should a rampant vegan do anything with a crofter? That bloke is always farmer bashing. We have a local pub popular with walkers as a footpath going by the river and watermeadows is near. The odd vegan comes in and I love to challenge them for enjoying the river kept for fishing and the water meadows kept for beef animals. I tell them that they should walk around the industrial estate in town!

I don’t really know much about Romesh other than who he is, didn’t know he was vegan but that doesn’t surprise me, we had a vet who was from a similar “cultural background “ who was vegan, apparently it was something to do with religion so not impossible Romesh is vegan due to religious beliefs.

As I say I don’t know enough about him to be aware of any farmer bashing

No farming bashing on this program , i would not have watched it myself if some one had not flagged it up for me to watch . Normally cant stand him on so called comedy shows but enjoyed the whole hour of him being shown round the island by crofter sweeny , the first 5 mins i thought here we go again but no worth a watch . there be alot worse rubbish on tv

He is your typical left wing and not funny comedian that Chanel 4 and BBC love to push their agenda on. He seems to be on every thing at present, I would rather sit on a bucket of rats than watch any of his in funny humour.
I would generally agree with that but in this series he is good, the Scottish island one contained no farmer bashing and he even got involved in checking the sheep.
The irony was he is anti brexit but he supported the crofter stance that too many immigrants would destroy the islands culture

I saw the one recently where he went to Haiti, went on a whinge about how he didn't want to see a chicken hurt because he was a vegan, the look of disdain from his local guide was glorious, but the pretentious privileged twit was oblivious

OK after reading this thread I watched the programme. To be honest I thought it very entertaining, but still can't get my head round a vegan helping with checking sheep. Perhaps he thought about it?

I really enjoyed it. Great advert for the islands and the 2 of them really hit it off. The vegan issue was not pushed at all and he seemed to understand the different culture. Lying on the beach at the end was a bit Brokeback Mountain style
