Arable Farmer
Hello, my name is Joe Hicken, I am a student at Harper Adams University and currently undertaking my final year research project. The project focuses on the effect of applying a sustainable crop rotation on soil quality and financial implications to a farming business. In recent times especially, a sustainable farming industry is in high demand with the increasing population.

I would like to ask for 5 minutes of your time in order to complete this short questionnaire to help with my research and would greatly appreciate your participation. All responses are anonymous and will be used for research purposes only.

No it isn't. Its a buzz phase du jour for politicians and environmentalists, but there is not one jot of evidence that the broad mass of the public care one jot for sustainable farming, or are actively seeking to pay extra for food thus produced. Point me to the premium for 'sustainably produced' farming outputs.

An increasing population needs more food.
A well balanced "sustainable" rotation will produce less food than an intensive one, but if done correctly should produce at a lower unit cost and environmental cost. More profitable ?
The "noisy" people say they want sustainable food, the majority just want cheep food.
I think that you are confusing the two.
Cheep food, and a premium product, marketed at a premium price are two very different subjects.
But good luck with your project.

Strange servey, no mention of how we quantify soil quality, no mention of how we think we can achieve sustainable and quality.
It’s all about machine choice, imput choice and high quality knowledge and management.
PS I would struggle to define it all

Joe, sustainable farming is so last century. Its all about regenerative agriculture now!

Haven`t read your survey, but good luck with your project...……...…..
