The horrors of CPH/holdings etc

Hi, hoping someone can help me out here. We are starting out with sheep, and have grazing/rental agreements on 4 different plots of land, 4 different landowners. One of them we are renting from our landlord (rented cottage on a farm) and I have applied for our own CPH based on our home property. I received the CPH over the phone this morning, but have been told I have to wait for it to arrive in the post before I take it any further (apply for flock number). We were hoping to pick up our ewe lambs on Wednesday, and they will be going on someone else's field. We're renting on a month-by-month basis on that particular field, she owns a riding stables and needs help keeping the grass down. Do I need her CPH and add it to our holding, or can I get a temporary grazing order, and can either of these be done before I get the CPH in the post? Sorry for the waffle, trying to explain as best as I can our wonderfully complicated situation. Thanks

But if you're buying sheep, they've already GOT a number, so it's no big problem if you don't have a number, unless they're gonna be lambing soon, which I assume aint likely.
You'll need the cph of where they are going, fill the licence in and POST it, (keep the carbon copy, and fill in your record book) don't bother with this online bollox, but most importantly, tell them what they want to hear, - don't matter too much if it's bollox, as long as there's paper to back it up..........

Thanks everyone :) Yeah, got a CPH number but don't have it confirmed so I can put it down on forms but can't yet apply for a flock number. I'm led to believe I can apply for the flock number after I have sheep in my posession anyway, and like Paul E said, I'm not going to be lambing in the next month or two!
