Not only too good, how big is the scraper that it needs an 895?
Its just what i could find when looking for something a bit newer. It goes on the slurry mixer about once a month, so needs a little bit of poke.!
It came from Oakfields machinery.
We actually had a new J reg 4wd 895 that came from rickerbys in 1992.! - surprising the work that tractor did back in the day.
Now we have a maxxum 150 but you wonder if we have progressed much, using these big heavy tractors using more diesel / ad blue etc.

Hi, folks!
Could you give me some advice about this hitch?

Is it good and plug and play variant or needs some modifications to work properly? I'm looking after hitch for my 1992 Case IH 1056xl tractor.
I've had my eye on them for a while.
Let me know if you get one and they're any good, I need two, one for an '83, and one for a '91 model.
You don't need to buy many parts to repair an old one to get to the £1000 they want for that.

Ok, I'll try my best but before I would like to know some experience.
I have the problem that I have no hitch at all that's why I'm looking for this one as the best possible option. In my situation it's quite sad that we boutght this awesome tractor few years ago in bad shape and we work our best to get it back in former glory. It's my main work horse and hitch is the must!
Do you know some more hitch around where to look for?

Can't comment on John Conaty's hitch, I've never even seen one. Don't think they were available when I needed a hitch.
I fitted a Dromone hitch to our 844 and it fitted perfectly, as you'd expect since they supplied Case IH with the hitches for the late model 844 and 856.

H reg 956xl, stuck in 4wd, any ideas what the cause could be? There’s a lever on the left hand mudguard to control it, will that be original or has someone changed it from electric to manual?

also, because it’s stuck in 4wd we have been using it with no shaft, came out to an oil leak yesterday morning, pushed stub shaft on drop box in and it’s lessened the problem, is it hard to fix? Just a slight leak….

The shaft floats if not connected if it’s the same as an 895 is this right? Maybe it wanging around with no shaft has knackered the seal?

Yea it just floats about. Tht could be what has happened. It’s my brothers tractor and I don’t have a clue about it really, I’ve been using it while the 390 has been getting a few jobs done and just thought I would see if I could help him

I ran mine without shaft for a week and it starting leaking a bit. Put shaft back on with shaft same place it came off of it just weeps a little now not enough to mend

Well one things for sure you cannot afford to lose much oil out of that gearbox before you'll run into major problems.
The box doesn't hold a lot of oil, maybe 25 to 30 ltrs.
So get the oil level check immediately at the level bung/filler bung behind the lhs steps.

As for the lever that engages the 4wd this has been added, originally its done via a switch.
The 4wd system uses pressure to keep it in 2wd so it's likely the 4wd pack is either not getting pressure or the pump is knackered...

Yes my 956 is done the same way, and also got a new pump when this was unsuccessful.
