Trump did not deserve a second term and a rather large number of the American public thought the same. He was trashed so hard in the election it was poetry.

The man is simply not a statesman.

He did get rather a lot of votes and still has a lot of support.
Ultimately it doesn’t matter what we think the American people will decide.

You’d think America could come up with some better leaders. I guess they exist but can’t get to the top because all the old farts have bought their way into the job.

There's an interesting theory doing the rounds with some observers at the minute, and not without logic either, that they know they can't replace him with VP Harris, but equally they can't replace an "ethnically diverse" female from her position as VP without annoying a certain section of Democratic voters either.

So they let things carry on until next summer and then parachute Michelle Obama in over everyone to run for the Presidency on the basis that they have no choice but to take such unprecedented measures "for the good of the country".

There's plainly some credibility in it given that the Democratic publicity machine and mainstream media in the US has gone in to full on attack mode recently to trash the notion.

Seems they may have been rumbled!

What you mean like lots and lots of banks did pre 2008, how many of those have been jailed. How many businesses don't over value their assets on their balance sheets ? Tesco got had up for overstating their profits a few years ago, was their chairman prosecuted? Im no fan of trump and I'm not saying that he didn't do things that were as honest as they should have been but those without sin should chuck the first rocks, it won't need a very big pile

Everyone knew what was going on in banking worldwide pre-2008 and no one complained because they filled a lot of folk's pension funds and made people a lot of money. But when it all went pop everyone just waited for the government to put their hand in their pocket. Then the muppets went and sold the banking shares they had for 5/8ths of fudge all.

This is just so typical of fudge-you capitalism. When it's all roses and everyone is winning it is ok. When it all goes against them they go pop, file for bankruptcy and expect the taxpayer to cough up.

As I understand it this is a civil case so it's up to the wronged party to bring a case. So it's not a matter of prosecution.
