The Trump 'monster'.

Forgetting all other things about Trump, and simply listening to his Ian Paisley Snr. type lowest common denominator dog whistling, only the intellectually challenged would want to see him as POTUS.

Yeah, if you are into gaudy bling. Crikey, his interpretation of style, is something else.
You mean you wouldn't like your front room like this! :D

That maybe an element of truth but cliché be why the democrats not put up a better candidate for president or is that the height of democratic party intellect, marginally behind intellectually challenged.

I agree with you on the Dems. The bigger trouble though, is that politics in western liberal democracies, seems to be hitting a dearth of capable, rational politicians. These days, you can’t it seems be able to get anybody to do anything. Can’t get a plumber or a chippie. Can’t get enough doctors. Now it seems, can’t get decent parliamentarians. Number of members of the Dail (Irish Parliment) who have announced they will not run for reelection is shocking. Many of them citing social media and online abuse as primary reasons.
Fewer and fewer about, willing to put in hard graft or put up with nonsense. Dregs left to do politics in future.

It is the ability and network to raise funds. It is the same for both parties.

Look at the amount spent on political adds, polls, campaign workers ect. and it is an obscene amount. It would almost pay the bills for an underdeveloped country.
