Best be prepared as they say in the scouts, although I don't really see it happening unless the Russians start losing badly.

The UN isn't exactly a force for good these days.
Mores the pity.
For some time I have been giving this thought and, despite what I guess are hopes for it shared by most others, the conclusion is that it is not functioning and can not function as it should. There are two dictatorships with a permanent veto, this means that anything promoting democracy and free-societies can never expect genuine support from the UN.

I've come to the conclusion that, although I would not like to see the UN done away with (because it could be a great thing), the best thing would be to have a new organisation established which only allows membership to fee democracies. Associate membership could be for those countries genuinely working toward such things, but any autocracy, theocracy, dictatorship or the like would be excluded.

But what's the point, what does / can the UN do that can't be assumed by already existing org's? 😐

Yet it really, really annoys me to see the likes of Russia and China able to veto good things on a whim.

It is still based on the end of the second world war there should be changed to that as you say.
