Hope the EU know what they are letting themselves in for, the Ukrainians already getting excited.

Be a few more heading for the exits if that happened. The last thing the EU needs is another millstone like Ukraine. TBH can't see Germany allowing it anyway.

I think the thing that will make Germany and France reluctant to have Ukraine in the EU-proper is not the cost, but that it would mean that power within the block will shift permanently eastward...

The EU leadership haven't a clue what they are doing & taking on, they don't even know whether they can take their populations along in agreement, there is far too much grandstanding by useless politicians eager to look important & powerful.

Let's be objective.

Despite all of Russia's investments in building defense lines, contaminating fields with mines, demothballing old equipment, and conducting mobilization rotations, Ukraine continues to push its own offensive scenario step by step and impose its will on the battlefield.

The Ukrainian army is breaking the Russian defense line, destroying rear logistics, cutting off Crimea as a transportation hub from the occupation groupings, and depleting Russian reserves. All of this has a cumulative effect. And most importantly, it is getting closer to cutting off the railroad connection, without which it will be simply impossible for Russia to hold the entire Southern Front.

All of this is often happening contrary to military doctrine, as the Ukrainian military is advancing in smaller numbers and is facing a much better supplied and equipped enemy.

Do politicians believe that this is not as fast as the laws of serial drama require, and the schedule of military operations does not fit into the election campaigns? In this case, I would like to draw attention to one detail.

Today, on the 588th day of the war, we are not discussing the Russian offensive. We are discussing the pace of Ukraine's offensive and only occasionally pay attention to the propaganda clamor of Russian officials demanding that the West prevent Russia's defeat.

Once this starts happening too often pressure from inside Russia to escalate things will grow steadily.

Ukraine ‘Hits Kremlin Top-End S-400 Anti-Air System,’ First Time in Mainland Russia

An SBU source told Kyiv Post they had some advice for Russia – to think about renaming the Triumph anti-aircraft system, two of which have been taken out in one month.

There's a very simple solution to stop that happening again.

No - he has an answer for nothing. Never gives any positive thoughts, never writes anything that could be construed at having an idea apart from “they’re wrong”. When anyone give help, it’s wrong, when they hold back that’s wrong too.

I think discussing Ukraine joining the EU plays straight into putins hand. It's a distraction being used to cause division.
The more the EU push & pretend Ukraine will be joining the EU the more Putin can tell his country that it's just a stepping stone to NATO inclusion so the war must go on, the EU are simply playing into Putin's hands as more & more EU countries kick back against it.
