The war in Ukraine...

The politicians have simply done what their electorate wanted them too.
The majority did not wish to abandon the Ukrainians to the russian agression, nor they wish to take on the russians more fully with obvious greater risk.
This policy has enabled flag(ukrainian) waving in british streets and armchair generalship in abundance.
Seems like we (the West, including USA) couldn’t even get sufficient arms there quickly enough but instead decided to use the issue as a domestic political bargaining chip (USA). That seemed incredibly stupid to me. We get the outcome we deserve generally : a catalogue of errors has lead up to this. And when was listening to the electorate ever the road to good statesmanship? They should be leading from the front not following from behind.

Didn't say it was good statesmanship or sensible.
Clearly the policy could have been better, simply pointing out the popular will is mot to take risks on Ukraine's behalf and that policies reflect that.

Exactly, what's the worst that could happen, a nuclear holocaust never hurt anyone..
It's the fear of Russia using nukes into Ukraine that's the problem, the West would not start WW3 if Russia become desperate enough to do it, the West are playing a very dangerous game of just how far to push Russia before they do.
