The war in Ukraine...

Gov is denying the Mirror story about sending Apaches to Ukraine.
Says the tanks and Self propelled Guns (AS-90s) will be offically confirmed tomorrow.
I was going to say its in the Mirror so beware
It's like seeing Microsoft Edge home page, full of click bait and tripe!

How long before Igor Ministry of defence spokesman says they have shot one down

We've already sent some helicopters , I would guess their replacements for Ukraine loses, so quite likely they have trained pilots, just need retraining on apaches.
I don't think retraining is quite as simple as that , apache needs two pilots working together , helmets have eye pieces that need eye training to use , one eye focus on helmet ocular piece. other on cockpit and outside. You don't just pick that up quickly.

Yet again the UK stupidly blunder in doing the US biding, the Russians will settle for nothing less than control of what they now occupy & will keep fighting, killing & destroying to achieve that, what we have now done by sending UK tanks is given the US a way out of this mess, if other Western countries are stupid enough to follow suit it will very soon become a European fight with Russia with America saying " we've done our bit it's now down to you guys, we've got China to concentrate on" want to bet I'm wrong.
Did u answer my previous question

There is no agenda, the war is all about €£$ nothing more, nothing less. Hence the reason most countries including ourselves are taking a back seat and are somewhat disinterested.

Mr Putin and Mr Biden need to sit down and split the Ukraine assets between their countries, that is what will bring the war to an end. However, I suspect China will also want a share?

I apologise if I do not find happiness in tweets which suggest foreign countries are to supply more arms and tanks to the Ukranian people, as all I see in such posts, is the loss of more innocent Ukrainian lives.
Why do you think Ukraine should just give up their country, nobody is making them fight
there fighting because they want their freedom and I for one are proud of them considering the rest of the world thought Russia would take over in a week

The Times's correspondent near Bakhmut, Richard Spencer, reports that there are reliable figures of Russia having lost >4000 dead in their effort to take Soledar... that is an astonishing number. Regardless of the fact that Russia has three times the population of Ukraine, and regardless of the fact that more that half of those dead were probably convicts, that is four >thousands who can't pick up a rifle ever again. And they still don't have full control over Soledar, outskirts are contested and the whole of it is within Ukrainian mortar and artillery range.

The only rational reason for Russia wanting Soledar is to begin encircle Bakhmut. However Bakhmut is far more defensible that Soledar and is far better supplied; reports are that many times as many Russians have already been killed around Bakhmut than Soledar.

The figure for Wagner recruits from Russian prisons doing the rounds on military fora, is ~40k, so it seems a reasonable presumption that nearly all of these are already dead. The 'human wave' tactics used around Bakhmut and Soledar have only been possible because Wagner - and Russian society - don't care about how many of the convicts are killed. The same just can't be done with mobilised troops, it's a societal impossibility even in Putin's Russia.

So Putin now has just two options, change tactics or continue as is and simply send any / all prisoners to the front - rather than ask them to 'volunteer'. Changing tactics may or may not work depending on competence and logistics... shipping prisoners en masse is a recipe for disaster.

Funny how it's one of the happiest places to live in, I wonder why?
Not really all that happy compared to Finland.
We just watched a family funeral online. One of herselfs elderly relatives. He was born just after Finnish independence in Karelia. Was a refugee. Made a life plus successful career and family for himself nonetheless.
Eulogy was by one of older relatives who was at the same primary school.
He's waiting to see the evil empire fall apart never to return.
He is enjoying the ongoing collapse of Russia very much indeed.
For him it's personal.
