The war in Ukraine...

Not sure Putin in reality has much to do with it, I'll bet army generals fight the wars as they always do with little sympathy for anyone who gets in their way, we all like to think Putin gives every nasty order but in reality there's not much likelihood of that!

You must not understand how Russian command works. Everything has chain from top and nothing happens on the field from the ground up. The Russians do not do NCO.

Do you think Putin is acting with a clear head ?
If the reports are correct and he is going under the knife again for supposed thyroid cancer that was first diagnosed in 2017 in the next few weeks, he is probably stuffed full of drugs. Likewise if he has Parkinson's, which treatments can often have quite serious psychological side effects including uncontrolled paranoia and delusions.

There is no need to worry. The UK maintains a nuclear deterrent, as does France. And one lone submarine, fully loaded, could unleash enough firepower to destroy several dozen population centres in Russia which would make any strike against the UK or it's allies pretty pointless. I'm not convinced any system will ever exist that will halt a full blown nuclear strike in it's tracks.
If I had to guess at anything, it would be the use of something straight forward like chlorine gas at the Azovstal steel works. Something he has used in the past with no serious reaction from the West. 🙁

Nope,
Just dont assume that Russia is incapable of delivering nuclear strikes
I don't , But Putin is a gambler and has constantly threated the West not to interfere in his various invasions. Unfortunately for him this time, Ukraine has called is bluff and exposed the fact his hand is pretty empty.

I think Putin gave the order to invade, then left it to his generals.
So you think Putin is innocent in all this?
We all know what Putin is but what he isn't is completely stupid, he's now got himself manoeuvred into a no win situation that he can't be seen to back down from for Russia's prides sake, we also now unfortunately have the West in a similar position where they can't really be seen to back down.
Who knows how this will now play out but one thing you can be absolutely sure of is it won't be good for your average Ukrainian!

Far better to acquiesce and let the Russians rape and pillage their way through the nazi hordes of grannies and children in 'southern Russia' then, killing anyone who disagrees with Putinism as a Nazi.
The population could watch it all on TV, unfortunately they've all been nicked and sent to Russia along with their food.

I'm not sure any option is 'good' but at least you can live as a Ukrainian in a ruined country instead of being tortured and murdered as a nazi without a country.

The Ukrainians, military and civilian are facing a far more existential crisis than the Russians, this is why they fight, and why they won't give up.

Oh thats easy.

Ukraine goes back to Minsk agreement & gets its land back.

Russia returns all the prisoners that it has in gulags.

Russia pays a charge on every barrel of oil to rebuild Ukraine

Russia hands over the war criminals, Putin can go in a care home in Siberia he will be no threat to anyone.

Oligargh money goes to start the rebuilding of Ukraine.

All Russian speakers are offered a one way ticket to Russia.

Zelenski retires & spends more time with his family, nothing wrong with Zelenski but great war time leaders are better thought of if they retire.

Or Russia wears itself so far down its people go back to the stone age.

Wouldn't life be wonderful if only it were that simple, now let's see what terrible things that happen in the real world.

Let's hope all those poor Ukrainians feel the same as you when this is all over.
