‘Building destroyers’: The Russian glide bombs changing the face of the war on Ukraine’s eastern front

Winged explosives weighing up to 1,500 kilograms – and nicknamed the ‘building destroyer’ – have had a devastating impact wherever they have been used, writes Tom Watling. Kyiv is battling them as best they can, but needs Western allies to step up and provide more weapons, air defences and ammunition

You've got to laugh, the Americans don't give a feck if Putin resorts to a nuke or two in Ukraine anything that weakens European competition is ok with them, Europe & the UK leaders are being taken for the fools that they are, there is no plan at all to end this mess we'll just keep sending arms until Ukraine run out of fighting men then we will just walk away from the mess that's left & live with the consequences for years to come.

Russia's rhetoric on the subject of nuclear arms has been "reckless" ever since it invaded Ukraine in February 2022, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said.

I sometimes sense in your posts Brian a touch of disappointment the Russians haven't discharged a nuclear device, even a weensy tiny one. But as said before your time may come yet. And I await the TFF post 'I told you so'. Hey ho.

It's the dumb inevitability of it all that gets me, every bugger with half a brain cell knows full well that before Russia could be kicked out of Ukraine defeated & embarrassed they would resort to nukes yet every moron just carries on as if it could never happen.
Ukraine were fecked the moment the Russians were allowed in & all the bulls!t of the world won't change things now!

I think they know they would have about 50 seconds enjoying their success.

First open confirmation now from Germany's Foreign Secretary that the UK and Germany are having discussions about the transfer of Germany's Taurus missile to the UK, so allowing the UK to release hundreds more Storm Shadows to Ukraine.

I still think Germany is pussy-footing around in this matter, but based on its record so far, meaning of supplying country A with kit so that it can supply its own to Ukraine. But, anyway, Ukraine looks to be getting a load more kit. Which is good. :)
Let’s leave “new kit” aside for a moment. Let’s talk about all of the kit already supplied, the training supplied, and the targeting intelligence. Let’s talk about the economically crippling sanctions on Russia. This war should be over by now. Right? Russia defeated militarily by western “kit”! Putin sent to a gulag by an angry, economically busted population.

Instead, we have military stalemate, brought about by standard old as time Russian military doctrine, of throwing malnourished young boys, in their hundreds of thousands into the meat grinder.
Meanwhile Putin, will be “reelected” this week, by a population seemingly satisfied with the economic benefits of the war economy.

Kit or no kit, we are looking into years of an undefeated Putin, and undefeated Russia, and an endless destructive war within the borders of Ukraine.
That’s how it has played out thus far and how it now looks as set up for the future.

All the while Europe & the UK get ever poorer whilst continuing to prop up Ukraine both militarily & financially, America have no interest in ending this, why would they they've now transferred pretty much all of the responsibility to Europe & the UK whilst they sell their arms around the world.

MAD Mutually Assured Destruction. You and I have lived all our lives under this umbrella. Seems to operate well enough. Even if our missiles won't launch.
Yea but unfortunately for the Ukrainians MAD doesn't include them, we'd do feck all if Putin drops the odd one into Ukraine if he starts to lose badly, all NATO countries are not going to agree to start WW3 just to save Ukraine & no country will go it alone.

Think you need to look beyond the Russian propaganda machine.
