I have been farming all my life,a long time,remember 1976 36c and no ac,this year 41c very hot.After Writtle college 6 of us drove to Benidorn Spain in a 109 long wheel base land rover took 2 days no problem,those were good days.
In those days there was always a lot of comudgionly, grumpy old farmers about........



...........there still is.

The only difference is that we are them, nowadays :facepalm:

I remember1976 very hot.
There was common sense in those days even I politics to a certain extent.
Also no do gooders.woke, gender id.pc correct, and less red tape for farming.
A better world than the mess we have now.

Farmers moan a lot more now
I the good old days ,if someone gave you a spade to go a dig a ditch you got on with it , now life's never been so good and all you lot do is f in moan 🤣
The sad thing these days is that for far too many farmers farming is a lonely profession, in the 70s most farms even smaller ones could afford a workman, someone to joke with & someone to share problems with, in summer there was plenty of casual help with the hay, nowadays to afford a workman you need to be farming three or four hundred acres & are both running like hell just to stand still & cope with all the paperwork.
