Depending on what one wanted from life, I've always thought the life of an Alpine Farmer to be pretty special. Tough but rewarding. If you are a serious farmer & want to visit farming heaven on earth before you die then sell a few old cows & take the wife to Appenzell in Switzerland for the holiday of a lifetime, your life will never be the same again you will like me wish you had been born a Swiss farmer.

Been loving your pics, but its a bit like visiting the moors home here - beautiful in summer but takes a special kind of person to farm there in winter. If you are a serious farmer & want to visit farming heaven on earth before you die then sell a few old cows & take the wife to Appenzell in Switzerland for the holiday of a lifetime, your life will never be the same again you will like me wish you had been born a Swiss farmer.

Having sown 5 acres of expensive pollen and nectar mix this year it is very nice to see the only thing that came up except weeds.

Average alpine herd of about 15 milking cows often in a fancy expensive fairly new government subsidised barn adjoining the farm house, definitely a lucky special sort of personBeen loving your pics, but its a bit like visiting the moors home here - beautiful in summer but takes a special kind of person to farm there in winter.
