Standing in the yard this evening watching the bats and I felt a bump on my wellie. Looking down I saw a hedghog, head down, snuffling around. He (or she) then climbed over one wellie and headed off to eat in the flower bed. I feel privileged.
Standing still for that long looking up at the sky you want to watch they don't cart you off for howling at the moon

I've read on TFF about getting livestock back on arable farms. I've been dropping hints to the farmer here about stubble turnips and tack sheep for ages. I stepped up the hard sell with talk of how the sheep keeper does all the work fencing the field and brings water etc.

Stubble turnips in, tack sheep booked for delivery (y)
I would like to think I planted the idea though I'm sure he would have discussed it with others before going ahead.
Phase 1 complete.

I think a milking parlour may be a step too far at the moment. In the meantime I shall be reading contract heifer rearing threads.

That's why there's a national shortage of celotex then!

When I bought it from travis P, I said to the chap behind the counter "any discount cause it's for the raft race?"

He said "the local builders will crucify me cause this stuff is like rocking horse sh!t"

Still gave me a discount :D

Got a dumpy bag of off cuts if you need any...... could glue all the bits together to make a sheet or two
