I don’t really see why there is any more to it. It ain’t public ground. Secure and stable property ownership rights are pretty essential to Making an economy work.

I remember reading that the biggest thing to make an economy do well, is confidence in rights of ownership, that is why all the Russians etc put their money in the UK and Switzerland. The problem is, politicians don't realise how their tinkering with things can affect that confidence, and rather like virginity, once it's gone, it's gone.
