This isn't going to end well!

Hospitals generally are full of sick people who aren’t going anywhere in a hurry. Even if you think they’ve got ammunition or fighters inside no sensible person should be bombing them because you’re going to kill people you should not be looking to kill. It’s time for Israel to back off. They must have killed enough babies, destroyed enough infrastructure and generated enough hate to be satisfied.

Nobody has an answer to 'what then?', I think this may go on for quite a while.

In the meantime, should they let the prisoners out in exchange for the hostages?

Anyone interested in knowing more of the history of this issue could do worse than listen to these two BBC series. Superb public broadcasting. What the licence fee is all about

The hostages are dead or will be. If they wanted the hostages back they’d have negotiated from the beginning. This response basically says we don’t care about hostages. If they release prisoners it just encourages Hamas to do more of the same. As for what then Israel needs to go back and improve its defenses and intelligence services.

I meant the headline really, is it not a bit divisive?
Seems more impartial now

An eye for an eye……..
When will Israel ever learn that this approach drives ever more Palestinians into the arms of militants..?

Of course the Hamas atrocities were atrocious, no right minded person doubts that.

Just how world leaders try and reduce the likelihood of such future incidents is the million dollar question.

But wiping out thousands of largely innocent men women and children, including hospital patients that are too ill to leave the Gaza Strip certainly ain’t going to reduce the hatred of their enemies, nor the revulsion of most of the civilised world for the indiscriminate retribution and vengeance of Israel’s warlords.

I don't believe anything from the BBC. (Country file should tell you that..)
Your better doing your own research.

Just announced on BBC news Jordanians just announce the Biden summit is cancelled. I was surprised Biden volunteered to visit the Middle East. If no Arab capitals will entertain meeting him then it is a diplomatic disaster.
Trajectory at the moment seems to be towards a full scale war between Arab nations and Israel

Depends on their endgame thinking.
Maybe they can see there is only one way to not having to live under threat of attack all the time.
You have to remove the threat permanently

Just as a note..
I don't support Israel's actions.
But I can understand them if they decided they had enough.
Their action seems shocking, but it's war. The west worries about social media and so trys to kill single people in a war and are scared of a single civilian casualty.
Even the Ukrainian war, the news reports a missle strike killed a child.

Hamas is known to hide in civilian areas, store ammo and supplies there.
Rightly or wrongly Israel seems to have thought it's had enough and making war the old way. You hit your targets and don't worry about civilian collateral.
