I well understand how the BWB work, but am puzzled as to how, before it is sold, they are able to publish a price list which they will pay (after multiple deductions) you for your wool. It would be helpful auctioneers did the same for cattle and sheep!

Is it not just an estimate of what they hope to achieve, optimistic or otherwise?

Projected prices. Based on the previous sales upto that point, if those sales trends continue



Auctioneers do. If your market sale is on a Thursday and you phone them late Wednesday afternoon and tell them what you've got - they will tell you what they think they will make, going by the other markets sales that week...

Always going to be huge demand, lots of buyers wanting your stock, don't take them anywhere else.... :censored:
