That is what is commonly said but I don’t think that is true ,you will usually find that the the seller will insure the the tup and also give the buyer the use of some of his best tup lambs so you are usually getting two or three for the price of one. That is in the blackface breed ,I can’t comment on the swaledale sales .

It must be great to bid your own stock up to inflate your own self worth.
The whole circus is nothing more than a sham, and a PR disaster for upland farming

Funnily enough no one yet mentioned on here that 6 of the top texel lambs sold at Lanark have proved in fertile, including the 200k lamb
