Hi All,

We have been approached by a company to see if we will be their UK agent for some equipment. The item that grabs my attention is a Moisture Monitor that can be retro fitted to any Baler and gives a real time moisture level of whatever you are baling via a digital display in the cab.

Measures 0-20% humidity accurately, but is to around 5% accuracy upto around 50% humidity.

Would there be any call for such equipment in the UK farming Industry?

Thanks

Probably but cost will have a bearing

Baler fitted moisture meters are already in use. One of my straw buyers is already using one...

I'd say that there would be a demand of sorts.

Last time I drove a baler a rise in moisture was indicated by a rapid rise in bale chamber pressure as the dew settled in at night. The straw soon told me when it wasn't fit to bale any more!

Thanks - I know that some top end modern balers have them fitted, but wasnt sure if there was a demand for retro fit to older Round / Square / Conventional balers
As always it will depend on price. What's a ball park figure for a round belt baler?

Not sure I can post pics - so apologies if it does not work - but the ones we are discussing look like this:
